About Community Connect
Community connect organisation is an independent not for profit national non governmental organisation formed by South Sudanese Women and legally registered by Relief and Rehabilitation commission of Republic of South Sudan in accordance with chapterb3, section 10 of South Sudan NGO Act 2016, with Registration and certificate of Operation number 4996 to provide a wide array of interventions in the areas of food security and livelihoods, Education, Health and Nutrition WASH and Protection and Climate Change with head office located in Mahata yei, opposite building next to container Jonny Juba with field office to be established in 10 states of South Sudan

Our Focus
Protection
Community connect is committed to ending gender based violence through prevention and response mechanism, awareness through talkshows on Radios and Social media is one of the prevention method. Community Connect is also committed to empowerment of vulnerable Women through supporting women to start small scale business and provision of trainings for the businesses to be managed well.
Peace Building
We do community Dialogues; we provide an avenue where community leaders encourage locals on ways of addressing issues. We organize events aimed at building peace in the communities such as Music and Dramas, Games, and sports (sports for peace) events. Through Conducting meetings with community leaders and training them on leadership skills. Household awareness sessions, through our programs we do awareness on issues through.
Climate Change
Adopting Agriculture smart practices that protects the environment and reduces over cultivation that can damage the environment. Advocating on the media through keeping information on the effects of man-made activities on our environment through. Provide awareness on use and disposal of plastic bottles and paper bags and putting in place strategies on recycling these items to reduce pollution. Provision of Tree & fruit seedlings and promote tree planting to curb the effects of climate change, we embark on programs for school children, farmers, and the community at large in planting tree to protect our environment. Reduce use of firewood as the sole source of fuel by encouraging use of fuel-efficient stoves (FES), advocating for use of solar power instead of generators, educate farmers on better farming practices to avoid soil erosion,
Food Security and Livelihoods
As a means of alleviating poverty, Community Connect supports smallholder farmers boost food production and income generation through advocacy and training on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), Farming as a Business (FaaB), Collective Marketing, Financial Literacy and Village Saving and Loan Association (VSLA) using a Farmer Field Business School (FFBS) approach. These improved farming techniques will help increase agricultural productivity through provision of knowledge and skills in line with agriculture, market information and access to finance through the VSLAs. Community Connect uses market-based approaches that enable people to continue to earn a living from their agricultural products in order to protect the livelihoods of rural families, this ensures their right to food is not violated by the international demand and trade for agricultural commodities. Encompassed in this is our focus on Sustainable and Resilient Agriculture, which supports smallholder farmers in cultivating higher-yield, more nutritious crops to fight poverty while saving natural resources.
Education
Youths’ empowerment through building their capacities in vocational education, we focus on the skills required for a particular job function or trade youths get training on skills that reduce the level unemployment, hence strengthening the economy. Focusing on girls and children with disabilities. The programmed constructs water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities with separate access for girls and boys and includes accessibility for children with disabilities. In addition, classrooms are fitted with disability ramps. Girls received menstrual hygiene management (MHM) kits and training.

Community connect embarks on awareness raising for communities to understand the value of conserving the environment. Community connect also promotes tree planning as means of environmental protection.
As part of environmental protection, we recycle plastics in order not to damage the environment,we have tyres used for chairs and tables.
We also train school boys from using plastic bottles as building materials in return to generate income for the vulnerable boy child to be able to go to school and study.
